Balloon releases

If you are looking for a major attraction at your event, whether it be for charity, at a party or wedding or a product launch or other corporate event. We recommend that you consider a balloon release.

You may just want to release 500 or 1000 balloons in your colour scheme to create a real WOW factor for your guests or turn it into a balloon race with someone becoming a winner.

We will arrange to inflate the balloons for you if you wish and supply you with the race labels if you plan to have some form of competition.

There are a number of important rules to follow when releasing balloons. First latex balloons are bio degradable which means that they rot down naturally leaving no long term residue, the same goes for the race labels.

The balloons are filled with helium and as they climb and the temperature cools two things happen, first the balloon expands due to reduced outside air pressure, secondly the latex becomes brittle due to the reduced temperature. In time the balloon will explode into small pieces allowing the label to return to the ground.

In our experience between 5 and 10% of the labels are found and returned to the address shown on the label. The number of returns often depends on the wind direction as this will determine the route of the balloons, the longer they stay over land the greater the number that are normally returned.

Large volume balloon releases (5000+) need to be notified to Local Air Traffic Control and the Police as they may become a hazard to aircraft etc.

If you plan to sell tickets and offer prices then you must contact you local council to ensure that you conform to local and national lottery laws.
